John Henwood MBE
Trustee of Lloyds Bank Foundation for the Channel Islands since 2017. John was born in Jersey. After education in Jersey he decided to work in television for Channel Television, which was the smallest of the stations which made up the independent television network.

Over the years he did practically every job there was in TV, starting as a trainee and progressing to become head of programmes, managing director and then group chief executive.

He was made MBE in 1998 for services to broadcasting and the community. He was a member of the Clothier Panel reviewing the machinery of the States of Jersey. He became chairman, then president of the Jersey branch of IoD. He took responsibility for Jersey Telecom as it was being prepared for incorporation and worked in a number of other businesses, institutions and agencies with all of which he is proud to have been associated.

Today he is chairman of G4S Secure Solutions, Jersey, and director of a small number of other companies: he is president of the local branch of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and has various other responsibilities. Never quite able to forget his time as a broadcaster, copywriter and journalist, to this day he writes articles on current affairs and on one of his great passions, horse racing.
