Lloyds Banking Group is one of the UK’s largest corporate donors, they use their scale to reach people in communities across the country.

Their four independent charitable Foundations, which cover the whole of the UK and the Channel Islands, are critical to their vision of tackling social disadvantage by partnering with local charities to help overcome complex social issues and rebuild lives.

In 2019, the Foundations received £25.2 million from Lloyds Banking Group, enabling them to support almost 3,000 charities. These charities are tackling issues such as domestic abuse, mental health, modern slavery and human trafficking, and employability.

Bank of Scotland Foundation
Each year Bank of Scotland Foundation receives £2m from Lloyds Banking Group as part of the Group’s commitment to Helping Scotland Prosper. The Foundation donates these funds to charities across Scotland through Grants Programmes and a Matched Giving Programme for Lloyds Banking Group employees in Scotland. The Bank of Scotland Foundation has now distributed over £10m to charities to develop and improve communities and increase financial literacy and financial inclusion across Scotland, enabling over 500,000 people to benefit from a variety of much needed local services and personal support.

Halifax Foundation for Northern Ireland
Halifax Foundation for Northern Ireland exists to support people who are disadvantaged or with special needs make an active contribution in their communities. Their sole donor is Lloyds Banking Group, however are independent of the Group have an independent Board of Trustees. Their main grants programme, the Community Grants Programme supports registered charities, with an average grant of £3,500. They also operate a Matched Giving Scheme, matching the fundraising and volunteering efforts of staff of Lloyds Banking Group up to an annual value of £1,000. In 2016, 654 grants were awarded over all programmes to the tune of around £1m.
