Our Winter Receptions are well established in the charity sector’s calendar of events and provides an opportunity to celebrate and champion the vital work of the sector, particularly with our islands’ politicians and civil servants, as well as the many dedicated people working and volunteering in the sector.
- [Annual Review 2025](https://www.lloydsbankfoundationci.org.uk/annual-review-2025/): Welcome to our Annual Review. 2025 not only marked a record year of funding but also our 40th anniversary. Since 1985, we have distributed £26 million to charities in the Channel Islands tackling social exclusion and disadvantage. To celebrate, we introduced two new grant programmes, alongside our core grant programme. The Channel Islands’ 40th Anniversary grant programme offered unrestricted funding to charities that have been experiencing a significant increase in demand for their services due to the cost-of-living crisis. We also launched a financial resilience fund in partnership with Lloyds Banking Group and our sister foundations for England and Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, offering charities supporting those struggling with the pressures of financial insecurity with unrestricted funding.

- [Training and events](https://www.lloydsbankfoundationci.org.uk/annual-review-2024/training-events/): The programme pilot started in September 2023 and concluded in June 2024. The purpose of the programme was to build confidence, develop knowledge and share good practice of engaging with lived experience. The six sessions run in 2024 covered: co-production; peer support; lived experience in governance; volunteering; employment; support, recognition and reward; evaluation; and participatory storytelling. With 20 charity leaders from across the Channel Islands taking part, it also created a support network of peers focused on the topic of lived experience. In December, participating charity leaders re-convened to share the progress they had made in bringing in lived experience to their organisations, as well as sharing the challenges they had faced.
- [Developmental support](https://www.lloydsbankfoundationci.org.uk/annual-review-2024/developmental-support/): We are enormously grateful for our strategic partnership with Lloyds Banking Group, not only as our sole funder but more importantly the access it provides to the skills and expertise of bank colleagues to enable the Foundation to offer support beyond just funding. In 2024, 22 charities benefited from a range of developmental support from one-off, 2-hour, on-line forums; to six-month programmes of themed support; to one-to-one year-long mentoring relationships. We know the fantastic benefits these opportunities provide for both the charities and the bank colleague volunteers.

We operate with complete independence from LBG but benefit from a unique, strategic partnership, where we are so fortunate for the support we receive at Group level, as well as through our bank colleagues across the Crown Dependencies. In addition to providing funding, we have supported charities through a range of developmental support programmes including mentoring, leveraging the skills and expertise of colleagues and matching them with charities for mutual benefit. This unique partnership enables the Foundation to fulfil our strategic objectives of offering core funding, developmental support and training, and helps to build the resilience and sustainability of the charity sector.

- [Liberate Guernsey, supporting Guernsey’s LBGTQ+ community](https://www.lloydsbankfoundationci.org.uk/knowledge-hub/case-studies/liberate-guernsey-supporting-guernseys-lbgtq-community/): Liberate Guernsey is a small but influential charity that formed seven years ago with the aim of supporting the LGBTQ+ community, their family, friends, and workplaces. Their mission is to ensure that all LGBTQ+ people feel valued, included, and supported in the community, and to ensure everyone has a ‘place’ and voice. The charity also helps inform and educate the wider community on the discrimination and isolation that the LGBTQ+ community can face.
- [Jersey Women’s Refuge, the only independent domestic violence charity in Jersey](https://www.lloydsbankfoundationci.org.uk/knowledge-hub/case-studies/jersey-womens-refuge-the-only-independent-domestic-violence-charity-in-jersey/): Jersey Women’s Refuge is the only independent domestic violence charity in the island, and provides a 24-hour, confidential support service, as well as a safe house, for women and children suffering from abuse.
- [Brightly](https://www.lloydsbankfoundationci.org.uk/knowledge-hub/case-studies/brightly/): This can include holding positions on charity boards and committees and volunteering in care settings, preparing meal services and supporting the running of Guiding organisations. Fundraising initiatives can vary from raffles, afternoon teas, family days, sleep outs, charity cycle rides, and swimming challenges.
- [My Voice](https://www.lloydsbankfoundationci.org.uk/knowledge-hub/case-studies/my-voice/): My Voice supports people who are severely affected by mental illness or lacking capacity. The charity employs a team of specialist Mental Health Advocates who work across Jersey. Specialist national training and skills enable their advocates to work with individuals with the most complex needs.
- [Guernsey Mind](https://www.lloydsbankfoundationci.org.uk/knowledge-hub/case-studies/guernsey-mind/): This is achieved in three main ways; through the provision of one-to-one services; an extensive workplace wellbeing programme of training and support; and work in the community, which includes the provision of support groups, awareness raising events and proactive community awareness campaigning.
- [Guernsey Community Savings](https://www.lloydsbankfoundationci.org.uk/knowledge-hub/case-studies/guernsey-community-savings/): The Foundation awarded Guernsey Community Savings a grant of £53,500 towards the salary of a part-time member of staff over two years.
- [The Shelter Trust Jersey](https://www.lloydsbankfoundationci.org.uk/knowledge-hub/case-studies/the-shelter-trust-jersey/): In May 2022, the Shelter Trust Jersey opened Venetia House, a site dedicated to the provision of the charity’s women-only service. John Hodge, Director at the Shelter Trust, says that opening women’s only accommodation has been a long-held ambition of the charity.

- [Relate Guernsey](https://www.lloydsbankfoundationci.org.uk/knowledge-hub/case-studies/relate-guernsey/): The Foundation awarded Relate with £20,000 towards its core operating costs and to help the charity achieve its business plan.
- [Caritas Jersey](https://www.lloydsbankfoundationci.org.uk/knowledge-hub/case-studies/caritas-jersey/): The Foundation awarded Caritas Jersey £40,000 towards the salary of their CEO. This has allowed the CEO to continue with and build on Caritas’ existing projects.
- [YouMatter](https://www.lloydsbankfoundationci.org.uk/knowledge-hub/case-studies/youmatter/): Additionally, YouMatter is a specialist Personal Social and Health Education charity, with expert knowledge of Relationships and Sex Education. All the workshops on offer are free of charge to ensure that money isn’t a barrier to young people receiving the support they deserve. YouMatter promotes equality of access to all its services and to enable it to do so, the charity relies on donations.

- [Kairos Arts](https://www.lloydsbankfoundationci.org.uk/knowledge-hub/case-studies/kairos-arts/): “We believe that the therapeutic nature of our workshops can form an intrinsic part of the healing process for those dealing with trauma and pain and can empower them to rediscover a sense of self-worth.”
