We are delighted to announce the launch of our 35 Grant Programme to mark our 35th Anniversary. As a board, we wanted to mark the Foundation’s 35th Anniversary in a way that would reinforce our commitment and support in the future, as well as reflect on the impact we have had over the past 35 years.

Ten successful applicants will each receive £35,000 of unrestricted funding to support their vital work. The 35 Grant Programme will support three key areas across the Bailiwicks:

• Domestic Abuse

Employability support for disadvantaged individuals

• Mental Health and Wellbeing

2020 has been a significant year. The pandemic presented many challenges for charities - with significant increase in the demand for their services, and a reduction in income streams. The 35 Grant Programme aims to help our islands’ communities to recover from Covid-19, and the issues prioritised for funding, we believe, are particularly pertinent in helping that recovery.

Where our 35 Grant Programme differs from our normal grant programme is that the funding is unrestricted. This means applicants will be awarded funding based on their overall charitable aims and objectives rather than having to outline up front what the funds will be used for. This flexibility will allow the charities to deploy the funds as they best see fit to help make a difference to lives of the people they support.

Support isn’t just financial, because of our close relationship with Lloyds Banking Group, each successful charity will be offered a Lloyds Banking Group mentor who will offer regular support to help the charities achieve their organisational objectives.

Due to the disruption caused by the unexpected lockdown in Guernsey, the 35 grant programme deadline has been extended to all charities by 1 week to Friday 12 February, 5pm
