Developmental support
Mentoring
Mentors support charities one to one to become more effective, more robust and more sustainable.
As well as resourcing their charity, mentors benefit from testing and stretching their skills in new settings, developing new capabilities, and building stronger ties to the islands’ communities.
Mentoring runs throughout the year.
Skills exchange
This could be around the themes of Leadership and Management; Communications, Marketing and Digital; Financial Management; Risk; or Strategy.
Skills Exchange runs twice a year.
Charity response forums
The forum take place online over 2.5 hours and are exclusively for a charity, allowing them to test their thinking and generate different approaches and ideas with the small panel.
Forums run four times of year.
We are enormously grateful for our strategic partnership with Lloyds Banking Group, not only as our sole funder but more importantly, the access it provides to the skills and expertise of bank colleagues to enable the Foundation to offer support beyond just funding. In 2025, 15 charities benefited from a range of developmental support, from one-off 2-hour online forums, to six-month programmes of themed support, to one-to-one year-long mentoring relationships – with some charities joining more than one programme. Colleagues volunteering included eight mentors, 21 colleagues participating in the Skills Exchange, and 54 colleagues joining Charity Response Forums. We know the fantastic benefits these opportunities provide for both the charities and the bank colleague volunteers.
We would like to thank all colleagues who have volunteered their time and expertise with charities in the Channel Islands, and put a spotlight on one of our newest mentoring partnerships who shared their early experience of being matched.
