Outcome-Based Accountability (OBA) Training
In 2025, we continued to co-fund the Outcomes Based Accountability (OBA) Training with members of the Jersey Funders Group in Jersey, and co-organised and co-funded in Guernsey with the Social Investment Fund and Guernsey Community Foundation.
The OBA framework and approach help charities measure and report how they ‘make a difference’. It also supports charities in making stronger, evidence-based grant applications and grant reports, and more effectively communicating their impact to other key stakeholders, potential funders, and donors. We will continue to support the roll-out of this training to help charities to better present the difference their vital services and support make to our Channel Island communities. In 2026, we will be introducing OBA clinics to offer charities the opportunity for 30-minute sessions with the trainers, providing one-to-one support in selecting the most appropriate outcome measures for their charity, implementing an outcomes measurement system, and to discuss any challenges their charity is facing in demonstrating its impact.
Winter Receptions
In November, the Foundation held its Winter Receptions in Guernsey and Jersey, now established as key events in the charity sector calendar. Once again, the evenings provided an opportunity to champion the vital work of the charity sector. By bringing together charities that have been funded and supported by the Foundation, with politicians, civil servants, funders, sector stakeholders, and Lloyds Bank colleagues who are actively involved in their community, we were able to celebrate and learn more about the often under-valued contribution of the charity sector. We heard from charity representatives from Sanctuary Trust in Jersey, and Action for Children in Guernsey, and two Lloyds Bank colleagues about their experiences, as well as the personal and professional benefits of mentoring, volunteering and fundraising for charities.
