Every colleague working at Lloyds Bank International can help to raise money for their chosen charity via matched giving. For every hour a colleague spends volunteering with the charity, Lloyds Bank Foundation will give an additional £10, up to a total value of £500. Similarly, Lloyds will match money raised by colleagues and donated to charity.
In 2024, a team of six Lloyds colleagues got together to compete in the Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey Rowathon. This involves rowing on a rowing machine the equivalent distance from Jersey to Sark – a total of 30,000m per team, or 5,000m each. Participants are encouraged to cover the distance as quickly as they can, with prizes for the quickest teams.
“At the end of the day, you’re sore but it’s worth it,” says Aidan Loane, Lloyds Bank International Colleague. “It was a lot of fun and a great way to meet new people. Plus it’s all for a good cause so it’s win-win-win.”
“It’s inspired me to do a lot more fundraising,” Aidan adds. “I’ve signed up to do the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in September and in June I’ll be doing the TMF Island Walk, trekking 48 miles around Jersey.”
