Are you looking for a rewarding role, partnering with charities that improve people’s lives by addressing the key causes and impacts of social exclusion and disadvantage in the Channel Islands?
We have distributed more than £26 million to support local charities over 40 years. To strengthen our commitment to our Islands’ communities, we’re now looking for an individual with experience of the charity sector and working knowledge of clinical governance that applies to the delivery of services, who is based in Jersey, to join our dynamic Board of Trustees.
All candidates for the role of trustee are expected to meet the following criteria:
- Permanently reside in one the Channel Islands
- Have strong understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities, and liabilities of Trusteeship
- Have an awareness of corporate governance and other standards relating to charities and charitable foundations
- Have a strong personal interest in and awareness of the activities of the charitable sector, preferably with first-hand knowledge
- Can distil complex information and bring a pragmatic approach to its application
- Have highly effective oral communication skills
- Have highly effective interpersonal and networking skills
- Have strong presentational and influencing abilities
- Be independent, strategic, and forward-thinking
- Be a strong team player
- Have sound judgement
- Be committed to the Foundation, its mission, aims and values
Trustees will serve a three-year term and be eligible for re-appointment for a second term of three years. Trustees serve in a voluntary capacity. All necessary travel, accommodation and related expenses will be reimbursed.
