Lloyds Bank Foundation for the Channel Islands appoints new board member

26 September 2023

Lloyds Bank Foundation for the Channel Islands today announces its recent appointment of Hana Plsek to its Board of Trustees.

The Foundation supports charities helping to improve the lives of people who are disadvantaged, disabled, and excluded to play a fuller role in their communities. It is supported by a voluntary Board of Trustees, all of whom use their experience, expertise, and passion to make change in their communities.

Hana joins the board following the recent departure of Advocate Gavin Ferguson who reached the end of his six-year tenure in July 2023.

Hana is a Senior Associate at offshore law firm, Mourant, where she advises both global and local companies on contentious and non-contentious employment law.

Hana supports businesses to relocate and start up in Guernsey, helps individuals with immigration matters and employment permits as well as Guernsey policy residence certificates. Additionally, as part of a specialist team, Hana also advises on data protection matters, working with clients to ensure their policies, procedures and third-party contracts are compliant with data protection legislation.

Institute of Directors Guernsey Committee Member, a Guernsey Women in Public Life Advisor, and non-Executive Board Member of Guernsey Employment Trust, Hana brings with her a plethora of legal knowledge and expertise, as well as a drive to make a positive difference in her community, all of which make her a valuable addition to the Board.

Speaking about Hana’s appointment, Philippa Stahelin, the Chair of the Foundation said: “Hana’s calibre of expertise along with her strong commitment to charitable causes and the community is what we look for when recruiting to the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

“With the continued challenges facing the charitable sector, having people on board who not only share our values but bring knowledge and insights on key social issues to the Foundation is integral. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I welcome Hana to the Foundation team.”

When asked about her role on the Board, Hana said, “I’m excited and honoured to be joining the Board of this well-established charitable foundation.

“Being part of the Foundation’s Board not only means contributing to positive change on a larger scale, but also collaborating with like-minded individuals dedicated to making a genuine impact.

“I look forward to utilising my skills and expertise to help the Foundation navigate upcoming challenges and opportunities. I look forward to being able to support the vital work of charities in helping to improve lives and strengthen communities.”

Over the past 37 years, the Foundation has awarded more than £21m to Channel Island Charities.
